You guys know your jeans

Thanks for all the brand suggestions. We decided we wanted to focus on 7 jeans (they've been around for more than five years now and their prices have had some time to fluctuate as the brand popularity grows), but the professor says we have to be able to find out the wholesale price that 7 sells the jeans to retailers for, as opposed to the price you or I might pay. After being flat out denied by the saleslady I called at the 7 showroom today ("I'm sorry, I can't divulge that information even if you are a student."), we're brainstorming ways we might be able to access this info.

Ideas? Anyone know people in retail who would be willing to help some starving MBA students?

here, Turd’s brother. I work for a large sportswear company and generally we sell our stuff to retailers for 50% of the M.S.R.P. The best way to find that price in the apparel market due to constant sales is to get the price from the companies own stores, that is if they also sell to other retail stores such as Nordstom’s. (Outlet stores do not count because that stuff is already on a discount.) Reason being is that most name brand companies do not want to undercut their retail store customers on first run merchandise. To test this ask the 7 jeans store if they have sales. Hope this helps.

no idea if this helps but there are several people on overstock.com that sell 7's at an absurdly discounted price. I am talking cheaper than Rack sales or Half Yearly's or any of that nature! I purchased a pair out of curiousity with little or no postive expectations(foolproof return policy made this acceptable). Assuming they were faux I took them to Nordstrom for an authenticity review. They passed with them(whatever that means), so perhaps see if one of those Overstock folks has the info you need. They all have emails I bet you could write to 'em..

My roommate Reid is a master of corporate espionage, you might want to ask him for ideas too.
